Then, in 1997, I lost the Stanford housing lottery, and was unable to get housing on or near campus. So I decided it was finally time to buy a car. A fun car. I bought my 1989 Acura Integra , with 111,000 miles. For the first time in my life, I enjoyed driving. It may not seem like much to most people, but it was more fun than I dreamed possible.
Two years later, I still go on road trips, just for the fun of driving and exploring. I used to go on long, 100+ mile bike rides to explore, but I've enjoyed this new outlet for exploration, which has increased my range from the Bay Area to most of California. Lately, I've started bringing a camera along, to record some of the sights along the way. There's so many other wonderful things I've seen through my windshield; this is just a tiny sample of the times that I actually brought a camera along, and found a good place to stop and take a picture.
